biodiversity awareness programme and coastal walk

On 11th September 2018, Universal Eco Foundation organized biodiversity awareness programme and
coastal walk to understand the marine biodiversity, mainly Olive Ridley turtle and other wildlife. Around
50 NSS students and teachers from Government Higher Secondary School, Kalapet, Puducherry were participated

Teacher Training workshop on Biodiversity and its Conservation (29th and 30th June 2018).
Organized by Regional Museum of Natural History, Mysore, Government of India, Ministry of
Environment, Forest & Climate Change, New Delhi, in collaboration with Universal Eco
Foundation (UEF), Puducherry.

29th June 2018

Fifty school teachers from Villuppuram District participated in this workshop. Mr. Saravanan,
District Education Coordinator, Mr. Balachandran, NGC coordinator from Tindivanam Range,
Mr. Vijay, Scientist from RMNH, Mysore, Mr. Srinivas, Senior Artist from RMNH, Mysore, Dr.
Abdul Kareem, Associate professor from FRLHT, Bangalore, Dr. M.Bubesh Guptha, Founder-
Director, Universal Eco Foundation (UEF), Mrs. Vijayavalli, Secretary and Admin, UEF, Mrs.
Vamsee Priya, Executive, UEF, Dr. Ramasamy, Executive, UEF, Mr. Veeramani, Executive,
UEF and other staff from UEF organized it. Programme started with Registration followed by
welcome address by Mrs. Vijayavalli, Secretary, UEF and Inauguration address was given by
Mr. Saravanan, District Education Coordinator, Villuppuram, Mr. Balachandran, NGC
coordinator from Tindivanam Range, Mr. Vijay, Scientist – B from Regional Museum of Natural
History, Mysore and Dr. M. Bubesh Guptha, Founder Director of Universal Eco Foundation.
After Inauguration, workshop momentous were presented to Education Department and UEF
presented by Mr. Vijay, Scientist from RMNH, Mysore. There are five presentation and one craft
activities given by scientists and naturalist from RMNHS and UEF. Mr. Vijay, Scientist from
RMNH, Mysore gave presentation on General view of Museum and birds pollination. After tea
break Dr. Abdul Kareem, Associate professor from FRLHT, Bangalore, gave a talk about
Medicinal Plants and it’s conservation, Dr. M. Bubesh Guptha from Universal Eco Foundation,
gave presentation on Biodiversity conservation and human responsibility. After lunch Mr.
Srinivas, senior artist from RMNH, Mysore, gave live demonstration and preparation of kirigami
craft. After tea break they clarified all the questions raised by participants and first day was
conclude with vote of thanks.

30th June 2018

Second day started with field visit at Kaluveli wetland for Bird watching. Dr. Bubesh Guptha
gave oral talk about importance of Kaluveli wetland and it’s habitats. He also shared about
techniques of mammal census, demonstrated the utilization the field camera and GPS. Mr. Vijay,
Scientist from RMNH gave talk about wetland birds and migratory patterns. Mr. Veeramani
Executive of Universal Eco Foundation shared history of Kaliveli. After tea break Dr.
Ramasamy, Executive of Universal Eco Foundation gave oral presentation on Marine
biodiversity. In feedback session teachers gave very good feedback on the two days programme.
After lunch, we started valedictory function and certificates were issued to the participants.
Finally we conclude with vote of thanks and national anthem.

World Environment Day,”Beat Plastic Pollution” at Government Middle School,

World Environment Day celebrated with the Theme of “Beat Plastic Pollution” at Government Middle School, Vandipalayam, Tamil Nadu, organized by The Government of Tamil Nadu Forest Department,Tindivanam Range, Villuppuram Forest Division and Universal Eco Foundation (UEF) www.universal-ecofoundation.org.in. Dr. Bubesh Guptha Founder/Director, Mrs. Vijayavalli/Secretary, and Executives of Universal Eco Foundation (UEF), Forest Department staffs from Tindivanam range, Vandipalayam school teachers & around 250 students from 1st – 8th standards were participated in this programme. During this programme Dr. Bubesh Guptha gave an oral presentation on Biodiversity conservation especially on plastic pollution and its control measures, Mr. Periyannan, Forest Range Officer, Tindivanam range gave a oral talk about conservation of Kazhuveli Wetland. During the programme Eco friendly bags were distributed to the students. Flash card and solgan boards were also used during this programme.

Eco awareness program at Kaliveli Bird Sanctuary(07-03-2018)

Today (07-03-2018) we conducted eco awareness program at Kaliveli Bird Sanctuary. Organized by Government of Tamil Nadu Forest Department and Universal Eco Foundation (UEF). In this programme we  started  rally with slogan boards and banner. After that we went to Kaliveli Bird Sanctuary (Vandipalayam) and explained about birds and importance of Wetland. Also we explained about, bird identification methods. There are 175 students and teachers from Government Middle school, Vandipalayam were participated.

After snacks Dr. Bubesh Guptha, Founder Director gave talk on  importance of Kaliveli biodiversity and conservation. Electronic media (Sun News) covered our program in the field itself. We would like to thank, District Forest Officer, Villuppuram, Government of Tamil Nadu Forest Department, sponsored such a wonderful event. Also we thank school teachers and students, Forest Department officials and Universal Eco Foundation Executive make this event grand success…

 UEF conducted Kaliveli biodiversity conservation and human responsibility Awareness program at Cheyyankuppam village

We have conducted Kaliveli biodiversity conservation and human responsibility Awareness program at Cheyyankuppam village. There are 250 village people and students from Marakkanam and Cheyyankuppam were participated, organised by Government of Tamil Nadu Forest Department and Universal Eco Foundation (UEF). Dr. Muthukannan, coordinator from UEF, talk about conservation of Kaliveli Lake and people responsibilities, followed by Mr. Kumar from UEF, talk about Kaliveli threats and conservation measures. Finally Dr. Bubesh Guptha, Director of Universal Eco Foundation gave importance of Kaliveli wetland and Biodiversity conservation. We distributed eco friendly bag and notebook for the students. Ex panchayat president, naturalist and forest official interacted with the students and villagers for conservation of Kaliveli. Part of the program we conducted oral presentation about biodiversity and cultural events. Finally conclude with prize distribution. We would like to thank, District Forest Officer, Villuppuram District, Government of Tamil Nadu Forest Department, for sponsoring such a wonderful event. Our special thanks to Dr. Muthukannan and Mr Kumar coordinated without any problems.
