We conducted Cycle Rally Awareness program at Kaliveli Bird Sanctuary. The theme is Biodiversity Conservation and Protection of Kaliveli Wetland. 50 students from Botanical Garden Eco Club and Payanam Cycle Rally group participated in the program organised by Government of Tamil Nadu Forest Department and Universal Eco Foundation (UEF). The cycle rally started at 6:00am via Auroville, Bommayapalayam, Kalapet, kanagasettikulam, Puthupet, Koonimedu with slogan boards and banner. The students were taken to Kaliveli floodplain for bird watching. Dr. Bubesh Guptha, Director of Universal Eco Foundation gave a presentation on Kaliveli Wetland Biodiversity and Conservation. We distributed eco friendly bag and notebook for the students. Mrs. Viji, Secretary of Universal Eco Foundation interacted with the students to motivate them. After lunch we had a feedback session on the whole event.We would like to thank, District Forest Officer, Villuppuram District, Government of Tamil Nadu Forest Department, for sponsoring such a wonderful event.
